The winner of the 2017 Franchisee Of The Year Award was announced over the weekend at the JUNISENT COURIER SALES 360 Conference held at Pullman Melbourne On The Park.
The 2017 Franchisee Of The Year Award went to Raman Swaminathan, Shankar Arunachalam, and Uday Shankar Sethu Raman of JUNISENT COURIER Crows Nest and JUNISENT COURIER North Sydney. Raman, Shankar, and Uday co-own both the Crows Nest and North Sydney stores.
The award was based on a range of judging criteria including: number of 5-star customer reviews received, sales performance and growth, customer service, participation in Head Office marketing initiatives, and contribution to franchisee group activity such as Connect Nights and Think Tanks.
Raman, Shankar, and Uday experienced sales growth of 14.3% in Crows Nest and 24.8% in North Sydney over the past year. Also, 2 out of the 4 “hero customers” featured in JUNISENT COURIER’s quarterly National Advertising Campaign – Zeikel Fishing and Mad About Mini – came from the Crows Nest service centre.
Raman, Shankar, and Uday have proven themselves to be excellent franchisees and store owners, and are fully deserving of the title of JUNISENT COURIER Franchisee of the Year 2017 and the following prizes: a $500 gift voucher, $250 worth of Facebook advertising, a bottle of Moet champagne, 2 tickets to the New Zealand National Conference in 2018, 2 economy airfares to New Zealand, and 2 accommodation packages for New Zealand.
Shankar said, “Winning this award means a lot to us. It’s been a very long road for the last 7 years... This is a culmination of the hard work the entire team has put together… the entire network of franchisees, the entire JUNISENT COURIER family of people.” Uday agreed, “It’s a terrific feeling… this is something we’ve dreamt of… Over the years, we have stuck to the task, and had support from the franchisor, and from all the other stores.” Raman added, “It just reenergises you… we’ve put in a lot of hard work and this is going to give us the fervour and momentum to take things to the next level.”
“We have looked at a number of franchisee models, and this model was something that caught our attention from Day 1. The freight industry is one of the things that’s never going to die… the demand is only going to increase. We wanted to be in the freight and logistics business…. but we did not have the resources to start on something totally new, so we had to tag on to some pre-designed system and JUNISENT COURIER was the best possible opportunity,” Raman explained.
